So this could be a folder that contains vanilla 1.14d files, or a folder that contains my Succulent mod files, or a folder that contains Median XL or PlugY. A platform is what I call a directory that contains all of the files required for that specific version to work. This allows you to save massive amounts of space per 'platform'. The beautiful thing about Cactus is that it allows you to have multiple installations of Diablo II in one single folder, and allows you to switch between all those versions while sharing the same MPQ base. It is more focused and primarily designed for version switching. Xyinn Network (LAN only since other 'closed realm' emulation software is prohibited by the ToS, however, LAN is fully allowed as long as you purchase a copy of Diablo II from Blizzard, which I strongly recommend you to do so!)Ĭactus is a Diablo II version switcher and mod manager. The following projects have been created:

This also helps Blizzard out since they won't have to spend any resources trying to ban people as well.

I've even disabled the button on all of my modifications in order to protect the user from having automatic updates or a ban by Blizzard.

At the same time some of my projects have also taken advantage of this goal in order to allow people the full flexibility to be able to play on while having a completely clean, unmodified, installation, but being able to still easily switch to another completely separate and modded installation that they could use to play on. Over the many years, I have written and improved various parts of the Diablo II Single Player infrastructure in order to optimize the game for an optimal SP experience. However, a lot of progress has been made in SP over the past 4 years, not just in the Diablo II community growing (whether it is Vanilla, Streamers playing SP, or D2 SP users using mods). It seems that people are still complaining. Back then a lot of people were complaining with problems they were having on, and so on so forth. 4 years ago (7 now) I posted this 'Diablo II: Single Player' thread which described the state of the Diablo II Single Player community and available tools.
